  • Do provide accurate personal information, including your name and address.
  • Do ensure your driver's license number is correct and up to date.
  • Do confirm that your insurance details are complete and valid.
  • Do read the terms and conditions carefully before signing.
  • Don't forget to specify the mileage limit and return time for the vehicle.
  • Don't allow anyone else to drive the vehicle unless they are listed in the comments.
  • Don't overlook any visible damage on the vehicle before taking it out.
  • Don't ignore the need to report any incidents immediately while using the vehicle.

Common mistakes

  1. Incomplete Personal Information: Failing to provide all required details, such as the customer name(s) or contact numbers, can lead to delays or complications during the test drive process.

  2. Missing Driver’s License Information: Not including a valid driver's license number or the issuing state may prevent you from being eligible to test drive the vehicle.

  3. Omitting Insurance Details: It is crucial to fill in your insurance company and agent's information. This is necessary to ensure that you are covered during the test drive.

  4. Ignoring Mileage Limits: Leaving the mileage limit blank or failing to adhere to it can result in misunderstandings about the terms of the test drive.

  5. Not Reporting Damage: If there is any visible damage on the vehicle, neglecting to note it in the comments section could lead to disputes regarding responsibility for damages.

  6. Failure to Specify Return Time: Not indicating the expected return time can create confusion and may lead to issues if the vehicle is not returned as agreed.

  7. Neglecting to Sign: Forgetting to sign the agreement means that the dealership may not recognize the test drive as authorized, which could complicate the process.
